Democracy is a necessity in our societies

The world celebrates September 15 of every year as the Day of Democracy, according to the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, which designated this day as the International Day of Democracy. With the aim of promoting the principles of democracy, it called on all member states and organizations to celebrate this day in a way that contributes to raising public awareness among members of society. The International Day of Democracy is considered an opportunity to review the state of democracy in the world, which is a procedural process that can be applied and implemented. The ideal of democracy cannot become a reality for everyone everywhere, unless the foundations are laid that meet the desires and needs of society, and the values related to freedom, respect for human rights, and the principle of organizing fair periodic elections by universal suffrage are necessary elements of democracy. In turn, it provides that natural environment necessary to protect human rights and their work in an efficient manner.

We at NlHR as an organization defending human rights, remind the leaders and sponsors of the constitution in Iraq, to pay attention to the interest of the members of society who have empowered other people to represent them in the highest legislative authority and to work hard to overcome the difficulties and challenges that accompany the political process in Iraq in order to build united, democratic, and diverse Iraq

الديمقراطية ضرورة في مجتمعاتنا

يحتفل العالم بتاريخ 15 أيلول من كل سنة  بيوم الديمقراطية ، حسب قرار الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة  التي حددت هذا اليوم  باعتباره اليوم العالمي للديمقراطية ، بهدف تعزيز مبادئ الديمقراطية و التمسك بها و دعت جميع الدول الأعضاء والمنظمات للاحتفال بهذا اليوم بطريقة مناسبة تساهم في رفع الوعي العام لدى أفراد المجتمع ، ويوفر هذا اليوم الدولي للديمقراطية فرصة لاستعراض حالة الديمقراطية في العالم،التي تعد عملية أجرائية قابلة للتطبيق والتنفيذ ، و لا يمكن لمثال الديمقراطية ان يتحول الى حقيقة واقعة يحظى بها الجميع في كل مكان أذا ما لم يتم وضع المنهجيات والأسس التي تلبي رغبات واحتياجات المجتمع  ، وتشكل القيم المتعلقة بالحرية و احترام حقوق الإنسان ومبدأ تنظيم انتخابات دورية نزيهة بالاقتراع العام عناصر ضرورية للديمقراطية ، توفر بدورها تلك البيئة الطبيعية اللازمة لحماية حقوق الانسان و أعمالها على نحو يتسم بالكفاءة ، وبدورنا نحن فيNlHR كمنظمة مدافعة عن حقوق الأنسان، نذكر القائمين والراعين للدستور في العراق لسنة 2005  ،أن يلتفتوا الى مصلحة أفراد المجتمع الذين خولوا أشخاص آخرين لتمثيلهم في أعلى سلطة تشريعية وأن يعملوا بجد للتغلب على الصعوبات والتحديات التي ترافق العملية السياسية في العراق من أجل بناء عراق اتحادي ديمقراطي تعددي
