Although Iraq is among the countries that have ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the deteriorating economic situation of many segments of Iraqi society is caused by financial corruption, lack of job opportunities, and widespread unemployment, which forced thousands of children to work in different professions that do not suit their age, and most of them left school seats. Which would cause physical and psychological damage and negative impact on children’s lives forever.
NIHR has always focused its attention on defending children’s rights, reducing the rate of child labor, identifying the main causes of this phenomenon, and implementing several programs that ensure the provision of child-friendly spaces, psychological and moral support and education, and urging them to return to official school seats.
